Snyk Embeds Claude to Secure AI-Generated Code and Audit AI Agents
Snyk integrated Anthropic's Claude models into its AI Security Platform on May 8, using Claude to power vulnerability discovery, automated remediation, and a new product that red-teams AI agents for prompt injection and data exfiltration.
Snyk announced on May 8 that it has embedded Anthropic’s Claude models into its AI Security Platform. The integration targets two different problems: securing the AI-generated code that developers are already shipping, and auditing the AI agents themselves that are producing and running that code.
The Scale Problem
Snyk’s framing for why this matters: 65-70% of production code is now AI-generated, and nearly half of it contains vulnerabilities. Traditional AppSec tools weren’t built to scan at the speed AI produces code, and they have no way to monitor AI agents that execute tool calls, browse the web, or access databases at runtime.
The numbers on the agent side are striking: for every AI model an enterprise deploys, there are approximately three additional software components attached to it — SDKs, MCP servers, third-party integrations. About 82% of enterprise AI tools come from external sources. That’s a large attack surface most security teams aren’t tracking yet.
What Claude Does in the Platform
Inside the core Snyk AI Security Platform, Claude handles vulnerability discovery across code, dependencies, containers, and AI-generated artifacts. When it finds something, it generates developer-ready fixes — not just findings — so remediation happens inside the existing workflow rather than as a separate audit task.
The second product, Evo by Snyk, uses Claude for AI asset governance. It continuously discovers what AI models, agents, MCP servers, datasets, and third-party tools are running in an organization. From there it does the following:
- Red-teams running agents for prompt injection and data exfiltration
- Scans agent supply chains for malicious or hidden capabilities
- Enforces runtime policy on what tool calls an agent is allowed to make
The security concern with AI agents is different from traditional application security. A compromised or misconfigured agent can be manipulated through its inputs — a prompt injection in a web page the agent reads, for example — without the model itself being touched. Evo is designed to catch that class of issue.
Availability
The integration is available now for joint Snyk and Anthropic customers, with expanded access rolling out through 2026. Snyk didn’t announce pricing specific to the Claude-powered tier.
Jason Clinton, Anthropic’s Deputy CISO, said the goal is to let enterprises “turn high-fidelity findings into action inside the workflows where software is built.” Snyk CIO Manoj Nair described Claude’s reasoning capability as what makes it useful specifically for this application: finding vulnerabilities fast is one thing, but converting findings into prioritized, actionable fixes is where automated security tooling has historically been weak.
This partnership fits a pattern from 2025 and 2026: security vendors embedding frontier models to handle the volume that human reviewers and legacy SAST tools can’t keep up with. Snyk’s existing integration coverage — code, containers, dependencies, IaC — gives Claude a broad surface to work across without Snyk having to rebuild the scanning infrastructure.
