Cursor rolled out an iPad-native layout on July 29 with pinned sidebar chats, split-screen agent monitoring, a new Inbox, full pull request review coverage, and Apple Pencil support — available on all paid plans.
Cursor shipped an iPad-native update on July 29, and it’s more than a tablet port. The update gives the larger screen its own layout designed around running and watching multiple agents at once, and brings the Inbox feature to both iPhone and iPad for the first time.
Cursor launched its iOS app in late June for iPhone — steer cloud agents, review diffs, approve PRs from your phone. The July 29 update treats the iPad as a distinct surface rather than a scaled-up iPhone view.
What’s new on iPad
The iPad layout rebuilds the interface around the extra space. Sidebar chats stay pinned so you can watch several agents run simultaneously without context-switching. Split screen keeps a diff or review open next to a live chat, with file diffs rendering in full on the larger canvas.
Apple Pencil support is in: you can attach a screenshot, tap to drop a comment at a specific point, or draw directly on the image to annotate what you want changed. It’s the kind of input that makes sense on a tablet and would be awkward on a phone.
Inbox
The Inbox is new to both iPhone and iPad — a single place to stay organized across sessions, agents, and outstanding reviews without hunting through individual threads.
Full PR reviews
The review screen now covers the entire pull request: comments, checks, and approvals in one place. You can add or change reviewers, read inline comments, and prompt the agent to resolve them directly from the app. When one chat creates multiple PRs, you can open all of them — not just the last one created.
The update also adds Bitbucket and Azure DevOps as version control options, alongside the existing GitHub support, and lets you switch teams within the app.
The iPad app is available on all paid Cursor plans at no extra charge. It’s in the App Store alongside the iPhone version, which launched in public beta on June 29.
