Claudeforce embeds Claude as the default reasoning model across Agentforce, Slack, and Agent Builder, while a new plugin brings 37 prebuilt Salesforce skills directly into Claude.
Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce on August 26, formalizing a partnership that runs in both directions: Claude becomes the default reasoning model across Salesforce’s core products, and Salesforce becomes a plugin inside Claude.
The announcement covers three separate workstreams, each of which was already partially in place but is now being formalized and deepened.
Claude in Salesforce
Claude has been available inside Agentforce since late 2025, but Claudeforce makes it the default where it wasn’t before. Claude now powers:
- The Atlas Reasoning Engine — Agentforce’s plan-and-act loop
- Agentforce Vibes — the default model
- Agentforce Coworker — the default model
- Agent Builder — available as a selectable option
Regulated industries get access through Amazon Bedrock within Salesforce’s Trust Boundary, so data stays inside the security perimeter. Other models from Amazon Nova remain available; model optionality is preserved.
Salesforce in Claude
This is the genuinely new product. A Claude plugin ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills including meeting prep, deal health review, and pipeline analysis. The plugin connects to live Salesforce data and can generate dashboards as local HTML files on the fly — the UI is assembled at query time rather than preconfigured.
The admin story is simple by design: one org-level connection with centralized auth, so individual users don’t need to configure anything. Access is scoped per-user, so each call runs with that person’s permissions.
The underlying architecture is Salesforce’s Headless 360 Hosted MCP Server (in beta since July 2026), which exposes four tools — Discover, Describe, Dispatch, and a read-only variant of Dispatch.
Pilot access is available now for select customers. Open beta is expected in September 2026.
Claude in Slack
Claude is already the default model powering Slackbot, Claude Tag, and Slack Code. Salesforce shared some numbers: 83% of Salesforce’s employees use the Claude-powered Slackbot, with the company claiming 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains and user growth exceeding 150% quarter over quarter. Slackbot activity now counts toward Agentforce ARR.
Salesforce President of Applications Patrick Stokes put the strategic logic plainly: “When people stop using Salesforce through the traditional human interface and start using it through an agentic interface, it dramatically increases the value of Salesforce.”
Marc Benioff described it in simpler terms: “the UI is the AI.”
What to Watch
The partnership creates mutual supplier dependency — Salesforce made Claude its default reasoning model while simultaneously becoming a feature inside Claude. Architects building on either platform for the long term should maintain model-optionality escape hatches, since enterprise commitments of this kind tend to evolve.
The admin-first security design is the detail most worth noting. Getting Salesforce access into Claude historically required per-user MCP configuration, which is a plumbing problem most teams were solving badly or not at all. Single org-level setup with scoped per-user permissions is a real improvement, not just a product positioning story.
Additional prebuilt skills beyond sales are planned for late 2026.
