Claude Academy makes Anthropic's employee onboarding curriculum public: structured courses, real-world tutorials, and a 4D AI Fluency Framework available to anyone at academy.claude.com.
Anthropic launched Claude Academy on August 20, 2026. It’s a free learning platform at academy.claude.com that adapts the AI fluency curriculum the company already uses for its own employees and opens it to anyone.
The timing is deliberate. As AI tools become part of daily work for developers, marketers, lawyers, and others, Anthropic is betting that structured education keeps Claude’s user base more capable and more effective, which benefits both sides of the relationship.
What It Is
Claude Academy is organized around real-world problems rather than abstract AI concepts. Courses are grouped by department and use case, with specific paths for legal teams, engineering teams, and others. The content covers how to work with Claude on actual tasks, how to build agent workflows, and how to understand both the capabilities and the limits of AI models.
The platform includes:
- Courses and tutorials grounded in practical tasks
- Industry-specific learning paths
- Interactive exercises that run inside Claude
- Badges for completed content
- Personalized recommendations based on what you’ve already done
The 4D AI Fluency Framework
Anthropic’s in-house training is built around what they call the 4D AI Fluency Framework, which they’re now including in Claude Academy. The framework covers four dimensions of working with AI effectively, ranging from knowing what to delegate to understanding how to manage agent behavior in practice.
The “ever-boarding” model is the other piece: AI capabilities change fast, so the curriculum is designed for ongoing learning rather than a one-time certification. New content is added regularly to reflect how the tools actually evolve.
Access
Claude Academy is free, requires no subscription, and is accessible from the “Learn more” tab in a Claude account’s profile menu or directly at academy.claude.com. There’s no paid tier currently listed.
This is Anthropic’s first structured consumer education product. The company has published research and documentation before, but Claude Academy is the first thing organized as a learning platform with structured courses, completion tracking, and credentials.
